Essential Oil Benefits

Essential oils have never been as popular as they are right now, and for a good reason. In fact, over the last five years, essential oil sales have increased nearly FIVE TIMES what they were at the start of the 21st century.

The reason for this drastic sales increase is, in short, that the benefits of essential oils are now seriously researched where they weren’t before. This, in turn, has led to a broader public understanding of the benefits of various essential oil products and has allowed everyday people to discover the benefits of aromatherapy.

Today, we’re going to examine some of the lesser-known but still very prominent benefits of the aforementioned essential oils that haven’t quite reached the public eye yet:

While it’s true that essential oils have tremendous benefits on their own, they can also be mixed to create blends that target your personal needs. Here is a list of some of our favorite essential oils and what they do so you have a better understanding in trying to mix your own:

  • Bergamot: Relaxation & digestive system
  • Cedarwood: Restful sleep & circulatory system
  • Chamomile: Reduces stress and promotes sleep
  • Clary Sage: Relaxation, calming & stress
  • Eucalyptus: Clears sinuses
  • Frankincense: Stress relief, great for skin, reduces respiratory problems
  • Geranium: Improves mood
  • Lavender: Relaxation, helps with headaches, bug bites & sunburned skin
  • Lemon: Uplifting, astringent
  • Peppermint: Boosts energy and alertness, reduces headaches, helps with muscle pains
  • Rosemary: Increases focus, helps with hair growth
  • Sweet Orange: Decreases anxiety
  • Tea Tree: Repels bugs and helps with bites, great for a ton of skin conditions & infections

Any of the above oils (among many more) can be mixed with others to create a blend that directly targets your problem areas.

For example, someone who is sick might combine Eucalyptus, Peppermint, and Chamomile to create a blend that reduces their ailments and allows them to sleep easier. On the other hand, someone who struggles with mental health might combine Sweet Orange, Lavender, and Chamomile to help manage their symptoms. The possibilities are endless!
